(( :: WARNING :: LOTS OF TEXT :: ))

Garret and Badoma were heading back to their tree, accompanied by a very worn Lucario. He was scarred across his back and had a recent gouge marks on his chest, along with the usual spike missing there. He was also missing a sensor.

They were quiet, until the Lucario spoke. “So did you really like it?”

Garret looked back and nodded. “We did, Ren. Thanks a lot” he answered with a smile. They had just come back from visiting a small den Ren had made as a gift to Team Shadow Leaf. It was more hospitable then their tree, and was much more secure, though it was further from town. “It’ll be cozier, and warmer, then hanging out at the tree.”

“I liked it too!” Badoma exclaimed.

“Good… good…” he said in a pleased tone.

They were at the tree now and Badoma was eager to open her presents. She stopped beneath it with a curious look. At the base of the tree was a large snow covered lump, and a half covered stack of presents. Sticking out of the mound was a dark red feather.

She floated over it and blinked. “R-rafe?” she asked, a little confused as to why he was sleeping in the snow.

Garret and Ren came up behind her, and Ren shook his head. “Tsk, tsk.”

“Um… should we wake him up?” Badoma asked.

“Well, he brought gifts,” Ren said as he motioned to the pile next to the sleeping Sneasel.

“Oh, yay!” Badoma exclaimed, nearly tackling the pile of presents, but she stopped herself and looked back at Rafe. “Uh… we should get him up first, shouldn’t we?”

Ren nodded. “You’re very excitable, you know that? It is a good thing.”

Badoma let out a giggle before saying, “Thanks, I guess.” Garret had already started pulling Rafe out of the snow drift, saying, “Come on, buddy. Time to get up.”

Rafe mumbled something about not wanting to when Ren approached with a gleam in his eyes. “Watch my most famous way to wake a Sneasel,” he said with a devious grin.

Garret backed up and watched curiously as Ren snatched Rafe up. “Follow quickly,” he said before darting through the trees.

Badoma and Garret followed the best they could, though Ren was faster than them. When they caught up, they found the Lucario standing over a stream, and then gasped as he tossed Rafe into the air.

Ren outright laughed as Rafe’s eyes shot open midair with a scream, “AAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRAAAGGGGGHHH! And then a splash.

They each cringed slightly at the impact and Ren continued to laugh as Rafe scrambled to get out of the freezing water. “REEEEN! I’m going to KILL YOU!” he shouted as he attempted to tackled Ren, who expertly caught him under the arm.

“Hello, Rafael. Come for another bout?” “I’ll get you this time, Ren!” “Nah… Shortstack.” “DON’T CALL ME THAT!” “I’ll call you what I like.” The two went back and forth before Ren grabbed Rafe up and tossed him into the air, then moving from beneath him.

Rafael slammed to the ground, but was quickly back up and charging at Ren, who grabbed his head and leaned against him as the Sneasel swung his fists uselessly. “Tsk, you still haven’t learned restraint,” he said dauntingly. “A pity… because now I can do this,” he laughed, clutching Rafael’s head and throwing him into a snowbank. “Join us in the tree when you climb out,” he continued laughing as he headed back to the tree. The two acted like… brothers, though as Rafe compared them: father and son.

Badoma and Garret sighed as the three went back to the tree. “I’ll be up in a second,” Garret said as he went away from the tree. The other two went up, and as Badoma put down her bag, Rafe stuck his head up through the hole.

“Hey guys. And Ren,” he said, looking to the Lucario with a smile.

Garret was up right behind him, carrying two presents: a black wrapped box with a red ribbon and a small brown paper package. “Hey Rafe. Need help with your presents?” he asked when he saw the Sneasel. Badoma came over and gave him a hug, “Hey Rafe.”

“Nope,” Rafe said, holding out two boxes: one red with green ribbon, and the other purple with silver ribbon. “Ah! Hi Badoma.”

Garret put down his presents in the middle of the room, and so did Rafe. “So… who’s going first?” Garret asked as he sat down.

Ren spoke first, “I say you open your gift first, Badoma.”

She nodded. “Okay. Rafe’s? Or… that… one…” she mumbled as she looked down slowly to the brown package.

“This one!” Rafe exclaimed as he handed her the purple box.

She nodded again, pulling her attention away from package to unwrap Rafe’s gift. She found a small blue jewelry box. Her eyes went wide as she held it carefully. “Oh Rafe, it’s nice, but I don’t have anything-“

“Opppeeennn ittt!” Rafe squeeled.

She opened it and her jaw dropped when she saw the bracelet inside, made of three large gems: a ruby, a sapphire, and an emerald. “Oh… wow… Rafe, how did you… It’s beautiful.”

He smiled as he said, “Trade secret. You’re welcome…”

She put it back into the box and flew over to him with a tackle hug, “Thank you soooooooo much!”

He fell backwards with the force and laughed before whispering in her ear. “Now for Garret’s, right? He doesn’t know what we got him, does he?”

She shook her head and whispered back, “Nope,” as she let go. She went to Garret and pulled him forward. “Your turn now!” she said with a big smile.

Garret chukled. “Alright, alright. But I’m not really one for jewelry, Rafe,” he said with a laugh.

Rafe laughed with him. “Don’t worry. You’ll like it.” Ren looked between them all, a slight smile on his face.

“Alright, which one is it?” Garret asked before being handed a red box with a green ribbon. He opened it quickly and gasped slightly as he pulled out a pair of fly-goggles. “Wow! I’ve been looking at these for weeks!” He put them on snuggly and grinned wide, “How do they look?”

Rafe laughed as Ren spoke, “They look excellent on you. Very sharp.” Rafe nodded in agreement, “Right!”

Badoma nodded too. “Yep!” she exclaimed before turning to Rafe with a grin. “Your turn.” “Mine?” Rafe asked, a little confused.

Badoma nodded as Garret handed him a black box with a red bow, matching Rafe’s colors. “Of course we got you a gift. Wouldn’t be right to not get you one.” “Go ahead and open it,” said Garret.

He looked startled. “... Cool… did you know… this is my… first gift?” He looked like he was about to cry as he careful slit open the paper with the tip of a broken claw. “And now… for the reveal,” he said in an absolutely giddy tone.

Inside the box was a pair of black Krokogoggles, the very same pair he had tried on in the story that one day. Garret and Badoma were both smiling wide as he blinked in astonishment. “Pfffft. You didn’t,” he muttered, incredulously.

Badoma laughed. “We did! You looked like you really liked them.” “So Badoma told me, and here they are,” Garret finished.

“… OH MY GOD. YOU. YOU. AHHHH. AHHH!” He looked to Garret, “AHHH!” Then to Badoma, “AHHH!” He put them on, “AAHHH!” The others burst out laughing. “You’re welcome,” Garret exclaimed.

Rafe’s fists were moving in a shaky, seizing motion. “Aaaaahhh! I can’t believe… How did you know I wanted them?!”

Badoma stopped for a second to say, “You were wearing them in the shop! Of course I knew you wanted them!”

He blushed a bit, “Yeeaahh. Thanks!” He adjusted them on his face, “They’re AMAZING!” “They look great, too!” Badoma continued.

He laughed and laughed, and then tackled the two in a hug. They had almost calmed down until they were pounced, which brought out another bout of laughter. “You’re welcome. Again!” Garret exclaimed.

Rafe was calming down, slowly, as Ren spoke. “I have a feast prepared, if you are hungry.”

Garret took a deep breath before saying, “There’s one more, uh… present…” He looked over to the mysterious package.

Badoma immediately sobered up and jumped out of Rafe’s arms. “That’s right!” she exclaimed as she flew over to the present, and then looked to Rafe. “Where did you get it?”

“Uh… Someone gave it to me, while I was… er… breaking my claws…” Rafe mumbled.

“Oh…” she said curiously. She turned back around and grabbed the package quickly.

At her touch, a dark pulse shot out from the wrapping, sending Badoma back with a shout and sending the package the other way.

Garret and Rafe jumped up quickly. “BADOMA!”

Done! Or am I? :evillaugh:

We finally have the actual gift giving! :iconpresentplz: This was a retrofit of a roleplay with :iconpokebreederemi: The Krokogoggles and Fly-goggles are part of the accessory trade available in the group right now, while Badoma's present is an actual gift =P Their applications will be updated once the event is over.

The Mystery Gift is part of a separate plot line I have going for Badoma, and will not be included in Event Four.

About the art: I'm happy about it, though Emi pointed out I forgot to draw Ren's tail -.- I'll fix that as soon as I can.
